Talks on pesticides and public health

REPRESENTATIVES of industry, research institutions, international organisations and Government agencies meet in Geneva on Wednesday (14 October) to discuss the use of pesticides for public health.

The two-day meeting, organised by the World Health Organisation, recommend appropriate pesticides for disease control, and advise on standards for the manufacture of pesticides and equipment for applying them.

The meeting will also address the problem of growing resistance to pesticides.
