Time to uncork producer power

TONY BLAIR is out promoting E-commerce yet, when the country looked like it was coming to a standstill, the public did not rush down to PC World to stock up on computer bits and pieces.

No, they went to Tesco`s and filled their trolleys with bread and milk.

Surely the message is there for all to see; as long as there is plenty, nobody cares, but when it`s scarce they go quite mad.

Supermarkets have acheived great power just by retailing food; what potential power do we have by supplying it?

The heads of the NFU usually receive knighthoods not for services to agriculture but for keeping the cork in the bottle on the most powerful genie in the land.
