Timing secret to being in top 25%
WHEAT growers who fail to apply agronomists recommendations promptly are paying twice for their delays, it seems.
Not only is crop performance impaired by the delay, typically agronomists bolster rates for tardy growers because they know the client will not get the job done on time, says Neal Broughton, Agrovistas technical manager in the east. For some, where higher value crops are taking priority, that is excusable. But for others it is simply lack of organisation.
"This is why the top 25% of farms not only get the highest yields but often spend less on fungicide."
