Top treatment in single pass

EXTENDING the idea of a one-pass fungicide regime from variety trialling, ARC is looking for ways to reduce the overall number of passes used to apply inputs to cereals.

Funded by a £100,000+ grant from the Home-Grown Cereals Authority, the work will examine the potential for cutting the usual seven passes it takes to apply sprays and fertilisers to a crop to five or even three passes, explains Dr Carver.

Run in conjunction with Scottish Agronomy, the project will provide a national perspective.
