The death of an experienced farmer involved in a tractor accident is not being treated as suspicious, say police.
The 74-year-old man, named locally as John Babbage, died following a tractor accident on his farm on Friday afternoon (31 May) near Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd, north Wales.
The Health and Safety Executive was informed but did not attend the private woodland where the incident occurred.
North Wales Police said they were not treating the death as suspicious. Inspector Mark Armstrong said: “This was a tragic accident.”
According to the HSE, the 2011-12 HSE fatality figures reported that 37% of deaths in farming, forestry, horticulture and associated industries, involved individuals over 65.
