BEEFED-UP chassis, axles and pivot points have enabled Landquip to boost capacities on its Electrac trailed sprayer range.
Flagship model is now a 3500-litre (770gal) capacity machine, which comes with a choice of aluminium boom width up to 28m and electronic tracking.
When loaded up with liquid fertiliser the sprayer weighs in at almost 6t, yet power requirement remains a modest 90hp – or 110hp should the optional air bag be fitted.
"Good weight transfer characteristics, both when full and as the sprayer empties, mean maximum tractive effort is passed to the tractor. That means we can get away with using a smaller tractor," Landquips Richard Abbott explains.
Other changes to the Electrac sprayer line-up include fitting mudguards as standard, increasing clean water tank capacity from 250 litres (55gal) to 350 litres (77gal), and using a strengthened tracking system which now has adjustable tapered roller bearings in all the main steering pivots.
Price of a fully specced, 3500-litre (770gal) Electrac, fitted with a 24m (80ft) aluminium boom, is £27,641.
