Train for better boardroom skills

BETTER BOARDROOM performance is the aim of a round of training programmes announced last week (w/e Oct 8) for existing and aspiring farmer directors in the dairy industry.

The Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers and the Plunkett Foundation have relaunched their farmer director development programme after securing two-year funding from DEFRA‘s vocational training scheme.

More than 40 modules are on offer to improve the knowledge and skills of farmer directors and council members.

Topics include the various roles of board members and their responsibilities to strategic marketing and communication skills.

Modules can be run on an open basis or in-house to be tailored to an individual company‘s needs.
