Two best bids for heifer twins

MARKET Harborough breeders Linda and Haddon Burditt achieved a double last weekend when they claimed the two highest bids with twin served heifers at the Simmental Summertime Special show and sale.

Brooklyn Fleur made 6000gns to A W and A Jukes, Tenterden, Kent and Brooklyn Fanella, which also stood champion, sold to R W Hudson, Nottingham at 5500gns.

Both heifers were by Brinkton Brilliant and out of the show cow Hockenhull Natalie 2nd and were AId in March to Hockenhull Simon.

The sale, hosted by Sacombe herd owners Paull and Judy Borlase at Hertford, saw M J Brankin-Frisbys served heifer Curlieu Tascha 6th Fantasy take the reserve ticket. This Brinkton Chester daughter went to S D Abram, Dereham Norfolk at 3900gns.

AVERAGES: six cows and bull calves £1580; six cows and heifers calves £1041; three cows £598; 11 heifer calves £1932 and 16 maiden heifers £971. (United Auctions)
