U-turn on rural housing policy?

THE government plans to reverse its policy of setting aside huge amounts of the countryside for housing, according to reports in various papers today.

Its Urban Task Force will suggest that large amounts of the millions of acres of green fields allocated for future house-building should now be “de-allocated”.

Included in the recommendations to be announced this week will be a number of incentives to encourage developers to build in Britains towns and cities.
