Unigate and Northern Foods in
Hillsdown speculation

HILLSDOWN Holdings may not get the chance to undertake its promised three-way split with speculators banking on Unigate and other bidders offering an attractive price before the demerger occurs.

Northern Foods is believed to be keen on the food operations but may not be prepared to consider the house-building and furniture sides. Hillsdown shares yesterday hit a 12-month high moving up 4p to 198.5p.
