US beef pushes into Japan

US beef is one of the few American exports making headway in the Japanese market, according to a report by the Financial Times.

Latest figures show Japans politically sensitive trade surplus with the USA fell 2.2% to ¥487.2 billion (£2.5bn), with exports dropping 13.6% and imports decreasing 20.8%.

Japans global trade surplus rose to ¥760.3bn (£3.9bn) in January, 87% up from a year earlier.
