Vale of York power line decision is under fire
A GOVERNMENT decision to allow overhead power lines on 180ft pylons to be strung across the Vale of York is to be the subject of a legal challenge.
North Yorkshire County Council and Hambleton District Council have announced they are to seek a judicial review of the environment secretarys decision.
And a demonstration staged by 250 supporters of Rural England Against Overhead Line Transmission (REVOLT) endorsed a strategy of maximum resistance, within the law.
This will include a policy of non co-operation with the National Grid and its contractors, said a spokesman.
