Vet medicines too dear

IT is a disgrace that the price of veterinary medicines in Britain is extortionately high when incomes are at an all-time low, says the Farmers Union of Wales.

The claim is made in evidence presented to the independent review group set up to look at concerns about the cost of prescription only medicines.

Derek Morgan, chairman of the unions hill farming committee, who recently visited New Zealand through a Welsh Sheep Strategy scholarship, said identical medicines cost 40 to 50% less there. &#42
