Wet weather worries Scots farmers
SCOTTISH farmers are worried about the continued wet weather, which has hit early crops and livestock.
A spokeswoman for the National Farmers Union of Scotland said: “Weve spoken to a number of producers and cereal farmers who say that we must have dry weather from now on.”
Soft fruit growers are worried that fruit has been slow to firm. However, a relatively dry fortnight will see good crops, writes The Scotsman. Long-range forecasters predict more showers and longer periods of rain.
