Why are the farmers paying for foot-and-mouth?

I WANT to know why we are having to take much less per lamb than pre-foot-and-mouth.

Were getting up to 15 less per animal, after clipping their bellies at extra cost, paying more for transport
than we did two weeks ago, when we are in the middle of a national crisis, none of which is of the farmers making.

Why, yet again, are we the farmers expected to bear the costs?

The blame lies firmly with the governing bodies that allowed meat infected with foot-and-mouth into this island in the first place.

Someone is getting very rich out of this disaster, and its not the farmer.
