Woodland guide for bird benefits

MAFF has produced a booklet, Farm Woodland for Birds, giving advice on planting low-cost, low-maintenance woodlands for the benefit of birds.

Farmers planting new woodlands can receive grants from MAFF under the Farm Woodland Premium Scheme. Since the scheme was launched in 1992, MAFF has approved more than 5000 applications, resulting in the conversion of more than 19,500ha (48,184 acres) of agricultural land in England.

The booklet is available from MAFF Publications, Admail 6000, London SW1A 2XX.
