World Bank sees cheaper commodities

THE World Bank sees low prices for commodities in the offing in its latest Global Commodities Markets report.

Large crops and depressed prices are forecast for coffee, tea, maize, rice, cotton, wheat and fertilisers.

The bank reports falling agricultural prices in the second quarter because of concerns over the new crops.

Palm oil, sugar and cocoa all lost at least a 18% in the quarter.
