Wynnstay Farmers to restructure

POWYS-BASED Wynnstay Farmers is restructuring in order to cope with the growing scale of operations.

Wynnstay Feed will manufacture and market a full range of animal feeds under its own label and through joint ventures.

Wynnstay Arable will handle grain procurement, seed production, crop protection and fertilisers. And Wynnstay Retail will run the firms 14 shops and central distribution centre.

Addressing the recent annual meeting managing director Bernard Harris said the company had had one of the most difficult trading years ever.

But sales totalled 50 million and operating profit was 125,000 up at 1.3m. As such, it was able to pay a record 13.5p/share dividend.
