Zimbabwe millers threaten food crisis
ZIMBABWES maize millers are threatening to create a food crisis in the country by refusing to operate their plant.
The two companies that have been supplying 97% of maizemeal for urban Zimbabweans this month closed their mills early this week in protest at new government price controls on the industry.
At the same time, major bakers have said they would shut down after being told by the government that bread prices would be controlled.
Both industries said that the new prices would ruin their business.
