Zimbabwes future hangs on tobacco
ZIMBABWES economic future could hang on the price its tobacco crop achieves in the market in a fortnights time, reports The Times.
Tobacco is the countrys main cash crop and its position in the economic health of the country has become especially important because of debt incurred over the last couple of years.
The paper predicts that if tobacco prices disappoint then “a once thriving economy risks becoming another African basket case”.
