Nominations for the BFREPA Free Range Egg Awards close at the end of this week, (19 July).
This year the awards are sponsored by layer breeder ISA and they will be presented at the BFREPA Conference on 20 November at the National Motorcycle Museum, Solihull.
ISA and BFREPA have issued the following advice to people wishing to make nominations:
“Nominations for retailer, food business, marketing initiative or breakthrough of the year can be local or national. For the two ‘producer of the year’ categories, it is useful to outline achievements around number of eggs produced, mortality, cost efficiencies, range management and welfare.
“Also, outline any additional achievements such as work in the local community, use of innovative technology, representation for the free-range industry, particular marketing achievements or such like.”
BFREPA awards organiser Alison Bone is keen to stress that an individual, company or initiative that has been nominated in the past and not won, can be nominated again.
“Some of the entries last year very nearly made it to winner, so do nominate them again if you feel they could be a contender this time,” she said.
