Exhibitor space has also sold out, reports the Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE), which is organising the event in partnership with nutrition business ABN.
“It’s an exciting prospect,” said Alice Bell, RASE technical events manager. “Producers, processors, retailers and consumers have all signed up for the event – keen to share their views on major issues including sustainability, global market influences and UK consumer needs.”
Meurig Raymond, deputy president of the NFU, Andrew Saunders of Dalehead Foods and The Grocer’s fresh food editor, Michael Barker, are among the panellists for the event’s headline industry debate, hosted by BBC farming correspondent Adam Henson.
Michael Barker said: “With all the talk about how to keep consumers buying meat during the recession as just one of the current challenges, it’s essential that all parts of the supply chain get together and discuss a mutually beneficial approach that can be profitable for everyone. As someone who is passionate about the UK pig and poultry industry, I’m delighted to be taking part and offering my view from a media perspective.”
A networking lunch will follow the debate, before delegates choose from a varied programme of focused technical and business workshops.
