Hubbard enters its 90th year

Internationally recognised poultry genetics firm Hubbard is celebrating 90 years since it was started in New Hampshire with a small flock by Ira and Oliver Hubbard.

Since 1921 the firm has expanded into a multinational operation, specialising in broiler bird production, with research and production facilities in North America, Europe and Brazil and a presence in almost 100 countries,

Hubbard has had a long association with French production, becoming part of the ISA-group in 1997 and then a subsidiary of French-owned Groupe Grimaud in 2005, thus becoming the second largest multi-species animal breeding company in the world.

The company is well known for producing a range of birds, from the slower growing types – the “Label Rouge” birds in France – through to high-yielding birds for large-scale production.
