NFU encourages consumers to Love Chicken

The NFU has launched a new campaign to encourage consumers to cook using a whole chicken rather than pieces, with a host of recipes, and competitions to win food vouchers and holidays.

“For many families buying a whole chicken already makes a lot of sense, both to the purse strings and in terms of saving time,” said NFU director of communications Erika Coghlan.

“What we hope this campaign achieves is to take busy families one step further; using the free recipes from Love Chicken to find exciting and easy ways of making great-tasting dishes from the leftovers.”

The website, originally the home for the Great British Chicken campaign, has video recipes with cookery school chef Jason Palin and a special ‘Meet the Farmer’ section where web-users get introduced to a poultry farmer.

The site also offers the opportunity to enter a competition to win a £500 health spa retreat package and weekly prizes of a £50 Marks & Spencer voucher.
