Stroquhan Estate lies in a very private and secluded position in the heart of the beautiful Dumfriesshire countryside. Despite its feeling of relative remoteness, the A74(M), the main route from England to Scotland, is only about 23 miles to the east and provides a motorway connection both north to Glasgow and south to Carlisle and central and southern England. It runs southwestwards from Lot 2 and ranges from 137m above sea level to the top of Upper Stroquhan Hill at 315m, from where there are spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The forestry is predominantly high yield-class spruce crops which benefit from a diverse age profile with scope for harvesting mature timber during the next five years. This is complemented by smaller compartments of mid rotation crops.
