Former Owner (Crichel Down) Considerations
Former RAF Cowden, Main Road, Cowden, Hull
Land at the above location has been declared surplus to MOD requirements and is to be sold. The Crichel Down Rules require Government Departments, under certain circumstances, to offer back surplus land to the former owner or their successors in title at current market value.
In this instance part of the land is to be offered back and part is not because exemptions apply. Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) therefore wish to trace anyone who may fall within the definition of former owner or successor in title contained in the Crichel Down Rules to notify them of the decision.
Former Owners: Andrew Carmichael, Alfred Newton, The Board of Governors of St Thomas’ Hospital, Lilian Chapman, Tom Wells, Kenneth Middlemiss and Harry Hodgkinson Oldham selling as personal representatives of SARAH ELLEN OLDHAM, William Stanley Barchard, Dora Fowler, Arthur Burnip.
The former owner or their successor(s) in title (other than through purchase) are invited to contact DIO by writing within two months of the date of this notice to:
Mr G C Dixon FRICS, Estates Dept, Defence Infrastructure Organisation, Building 18, Piave Lines, Leyburn Road, Catterick Garrison. DL9 3LR
Successors in title should state and provide evidence of their relationship to the former owner.
