Situation

Pool Green Woods is an attractive area of woodland situated in open countryside along the eastern edge of the village of Tatenhill. Tatenhill offers a variety of impressive country residences, as well as character cottages, with local amenities including a public house and a parish church with public transport links to surrounding areas.

The nearby towns and cities of Burton Upon Trent, Derby and Uttoxeter as well as surrounding villages all provide an excellent variety of shopping, educational, recreational and cultural facilities.

The Woodland

The wood forms an important focal point and amenity use in the local area of Tatenhill and is made up of a mixture of Oak, Ash, Wild Cherry, Sweet Chestnut, Birch as well as woodland shrubs. In all these provide an excellent habitat for a wealth of
flora and fauna.

The land offered for sale is about 34.2 acres (13.8 ha) as identified on the sale plan and takes access directly off Branston Road to the south. Planting of lot 1 took place in 1999.

Areas of the woodland are subject to requirements as set out by the National Forest Company Tender Scheme (NFTS), Forestry Commission Woodland Grant Scheme (WGS) and Defra Farm Woodland Premium Scheme, until prescribed termination date. There is no grant income left to be received across the parcels of woodland.

There are opportunities for exploring new income streams including but not limited to the sale of carbon that is sequestered by the trees, biodiversity net gain as part of the planning process and leisure activities.

Public Access

Permissive general access (outside existing public footpath routes) is part of the original agreement under the NFTS and WGS whilst these contracts are in force this public access must be permitted. Further details are available from the vendors agent.
