Fertile Minds is the UK only conference and workshop that helps you to further your career in farming with the focus on business planning and farm diversification 


Farmers Weekly is providing a conference for business-driven young UK farmers and individuals wanting to start their business in agriculture.

The conference will be hosted by a group of speakers experienced in different areas of managing and developing successful businesses in the UK.

You will have the opportunity to meet your peers, share stories, question experts and attend the Ag Careers Live exhibition all in one place.

The conference is for anyone aged 18-35 who have a passion in agriculture and an interest in business.

We have inspirational, pioneering speakers, who between them have literally thousands of hours of practical experience in the farming areas, delivering innovative, and exciting information relevant to everyone in the agriculture industry.

Hugh Oshea

Hugh is a talented voice and accent coach having gained an MA in Voice Studies at the Central School of Speech and Drama. He has a wide repertoire working as a dialect coach and training business clients in presentation, impact & influencing techniques. He holds an NLP Practitioner Qualification and is the personal voice coach to the comedian, Rory Bremner.


Lewis Steer

Lewis Steer, ‘The Dartmoor Shepherd’ and winner of young agricultural entrepreneur of the year. Following his graduation from the Royal Agricultural University Lewis and Floras fledging sheep enterprise has grown from strength-to-strength. They entered the shepherding world through starting up a unique business ‘ The Dartmoor Shepherd ‘.

Delve into the fascinating world of behaviours. This is NOT another personality profile or another set of boxes to put people in. We have prepared a session, delivered by experts, to introduce you to this simple and effective tool for understanding and working with different behaviours so that you are more aware of:

  • the messages you are receiving or giving out with your body

  • the thinking that is driving behaviour

  • how to avoid or deal with conflict more efficiently

When parking at the stadium, attendees should access Villa Park via the Trinity Road entrance.


Parking is free and available within the Holte Suite car park on Trinity Road.

Exit Junction 7 of the M6 and follow signs for Birmingham A34. After passing Alexandra Stadium stay in the nearside lane and leave the main carriageway.
