Soils in Practice 2018

The second Soils in Practice event brought together over 220 attendees to hear from key industry speakers on the where soil research is currently and how to maximise soil health through an integrated approach. The conference included an exhibition, panel discussions, networking breaks and practical in-field demonstrations throughout the day.

The event was held at Euston Estates Euston Farm, which extends to around 6,500 acres in the Suffolk countryside. The majority of the soil across the farm is typcial Breckland-sand over chalk and soil conditions are favourable providing the soil is managed for root crop production. The farm is part of a wide range of research activities with various partners to ensure continual improvement in what they do. This includes work with BASF, Innovative Farmers Field Labs and The Soil Association.

Soils in Practice is part of our commitment to helping farmers and the industry understand soil science and improve management through the provision of actionable technical information.
