Combining winter barley
A change in fertiliser regime has seen winter barley yields at a four-year high for one grower in Nottinghamshire this year. Peter Gadd, of Hollygate Farm, Stragglethorpe, has yielded 10.99t/ha on 24ha of hybrid winter barley variety Volume this year, just 130kg short of an 11t/ha average.
