Tractor model changes for 2014

Armatrac

The ArmaTrac range built by Erkunt Industries in Turkey is on sale in the UK this year.

Case-IH

Magnum CVX tractors with stepless transmission are now available and a new flagship gives 419hp. The new Quadtrac 620 now delivers 682hp.

Challenger

Short-lived D-series version of the MT700 is replaced with the MT700E line-up, delivering power outputs beyond the 400hp mark for the first time. The MT800 is reintroduced after a brief absence, with the new four-turbo Sisu V12 diesel engine developing more than 640hp.

Claas

Seven Arion C-Matic tractors from 145hp to 184hp bring stepless drive further down the Claas range. A second-generation Axion 800 is on its way, with Hexashift semi-powershift and C-Matic stepless transmissions.

Xerion gets a new MTU engine instead of Caterpillar and a new 435hp Xerion 4000 model replaces the old-style 3800.

Deutz-Fahr (pictured top)

Simpler-spec 5C tractors from 89-118hp have been introduced, along with a more powerful 127hp addition to the Series 5, plus lower-power additions to the Agrotron Series 6, which now starts at 118hp with semi-powershift and 135hp with TTV stepless drive. Pre-production versions of Deutz’s new 270-340hp 9-series tractors  are due later in 2014.

Farmtrac

No longer being imported.

Fendt

400 Vario range has gone and is replaced by the 500 Vario with a nicer cabin and AdBlue-equipped Deutz engines. Vario 800 and 900 lines switch to new engines.

JCB

Fastrac 2000 series will be replaced by the all-new and higher-tech Fastrac 4000-series this year, with three power outputs from 180-240hp, 6.6-litre Sisu engines and CVT.

John Deere

A trio of 6MC models slot in beneath the current 6M line-up, with 95-116hp outputs, and higher-spec 6RC models with boost. Second-generation 7R, 8R and 8RT models get more power and will have the new e23 Efficiency Manager powershift later in the year.

Kubota

63hp M6060 and 100hp M7060 have joined the line-up with improved power delivery and cab interior design.

Landini

Alpine line dropped in favour of the all-new 4-series livestock tractor range – from 90-107hp and will extend down to 60hp – and uses Deutz engines for the first time. Powerfarm is replaced by the 5-D-series with Perkins 3.4-litre engine.

Landini 6C-series will replace Powermondial later this year with more power and cab suspension.

The 6-series and 7-series tractors feature Fiat engines and ZF semi-powershift transmission for the first time.

Massey Ferguson

All 5400-, 6400- and 7400-series tractors have now been replaced and the 5600 range extended to include 110-130hp models with a choice of Dyna-4 and Dyna-6 transmissions. MF 8700 Dyna-VT range has powerboost climbing to 400hp.

McCormick

C-Max and T-Max models replaced by the X50-series with 3.4-litre Perkins engine for synchro shuttle models and boost for powershuttle transmissions. X4-series livestock tractors with Deutz engine join the range later this year, and X6-series replaces the current X60 and MC line-up. X7 Pro Drive includes four- and six-cylinder tractors with ZF semi-powershift transmissions and new cab.

Mercedes-Benx

Latest Euro VI engined Unimogs come in 230hp, 270hp and 300hp versions. Cabs are new and the pto can handle 300hp.

New Holland

CVT version of T8 tractor has been introduced plus new flagship model with up to 420hp available. Three smaller T6 Auto Command CVT tractors now on sale.

Same

Dorado and Explorer ranges focus largely on engines with latest Euro emissions requirements, while the Silver (including the sole CVT tractor in the range) has gone now that the Virtus is fully available. Fortis range (which replaced the Iron) is extended with a trio of four-cylinder models from 118-144hp.

Valtra

Heavier-build N103.4 with 111hp added to the more compact N103 with three-cylinder engine. Newcomer comes with HiTech three-step or five-step powershift. The N123 with 135/143hp can now have HiTech 5 20×20, Versu 30×30 and direct stepless transmissions in addition to HiTech 3. S4-series get new powerboost engines.

Versatile

Canadian manufacturer Versatile makes UK comeback this year with Lincolnshire dealer JPM Agricultural and particular focus on the DeltaTrack as a Cummins-engined Quadtrac alternative.

Zetor

Fresh hood styling gives the Proxima range – including the Plus and Power variants – a visual lift, but otherwise the range continues as last year for the time being.
