Wisconsin Dairy Herds Show Big Yields on BST

SIX OF Wisconsin’s top dairy herds produce between 13,207kg and 14,178kg a cow in herds ranging from 291 to 566 cows – and every herd uses BST, according to a report in Hoard’s Dairyman.

Cell counts range from 119,000/ml in a 276-cow herd to 225,000/ml for the 566-cow herd. Four herds milk three times a day, one milks four times and one does a combination of both.
