Sima 2013: Amazone unveils new border spreading system

Amazone has come up with a clever new system for border spreading.

Instead of lowering a deflector into the spread pattern, the German maker has designed a new disc that can switch from field to border spreading on the fly.

Just flicking a button in the cab causes the centre of the disc to shift, deflecting the fertiliser from the main vane to a shorter border one.

Amazone says this improves the spread pattern and prevents the yellowing that often occurs at field edges. They also claim it can boost yields in these areas by 15%.

The new Auto-TS discs will be fitted to Amazone’s ZA-TS range of spreaders, which could be available as early as 2014.
