Are you – or were you – in a Young Farmers’ Club? If so, tell us about what’s great about being a member and you could be on your way to winning £200.
We’re running this writing competition to help celebrate National Young Farmers’ Week, which the National Federation of YFCs is running from 19-25 September.
All you have to do is write us a piece of 600 words or less, with the title “The Best Thing About Young Farmers Is…”
We want to hear why you love or loved being a member of the countryside’s biggest and best youth organisation (the competition is open to former members, as well as current ones).
You might want to tell us about one or more specific aspects or events you have been involved in.
Alternatively, you might tell us about how it changed you as a person, helped you in your career, positively affected in another area of your life or helped you have a great social life.
You could either focus on a specific event or experience or make the piece more general about YFC life.
Ultimately, we just want to get a sense of why it is – or was – such an important part of your life and why you’d recommend joining to anyone else who may be considering it.
The closing date for entries is 9am on 12 September and we’ll publish the entry we like best and extracts from some of the others in the 16 September issue of Farmers Weekly.
