With both commercial and environmental pressure on farmers to reduce pesticide and herbicide use, Tecnoma is now offering something called “Intelligent Localized Spray”, or ILS, for both its mounted and self-propelled sprayers.

A camera is mounted on the front of the machine or tractor which takes continuous digital images.

These are analysed with an infrared filter to identify the crop row after which software distinguishes weeds from the crop, meaning spray is only applied to areas with weed cover.

It can be fitted to a variety of sprayers equipped with continuous boom circulation.
