South Cave Tractors’ modified forward-control Unimog is to get an upgrade.

The new S-Trac U500 has a bigger carrying capacity than the current U400, allowing fitting of either a 6000-litre spray-pack with 36m boom or a 5000-litre unit with 42m booms.

There’s a choice of 238hp or 286hp Mercedes engines and power is put to the ground through a 16-speed powershift box.

The machine’s four-wheel steering set-up is now auto-steer ready and can be controlled by either Trimble or Top-Con GPS.
