Livestock 2013: Kitt Agri cubicle leveller

Using sand in cubicles rather than straw or sawdust continues to increase in popularity, thanks mainly to its superior comfort. However keeping the sand well groomed can be a tediously time-consuming job.

But Kitt Agri (a sister company of Kitt Kraiburg) was showing its new cubicle groomer from Michigan, USA, firm Superior Attachments. This typically attaches to the left hand side of the telehandler or skidsteer and is angled at 3deg to give a slight slope that cows like.

It also means that less sand falls out of the front of the cubicle, which will please any farmer fed up with sand gumming up his slurry store. Cost is £5,250.
