Bidding on the up

THERE was no sign of the "dairy doldrums" at the monthly Lancaster Holstein fixture when 64 calved heifers averaged £1195 and 11 bulls levelled at £2095.

Although standing second in the junior heifer class, when it came to sale time Alandrew Integ Doll had earned enough admirers to send bidding to 4800gns.

Consigned by Anthony Jackson, Out Rawcliffe, Preston, this Integrity-calved heifer is out of a Starbuck daughter of the great Crudwell Warden Doll 2nd (classified Ex93) who topped 13,116kg with her seventh lactation and has 18 milking daughters. Doll was bought by J and M Holgate, Settle, North Yorks. (Lancaster Auction Mart with Norton and Brooksbank). &#42
