Blanket ban on feed antibiotics?
EUROPEAN scientists meeting in Brussels on Friday will discuss whether antibiotics in animal feed contribute to human resistance to microbials.
If the committee finds against their use, the use of antibiotics as growth promoters in could be subjected to a blanket ban.
The European Union has already outlawed six of the more commonly-used antibiotics.
