Focus on struggling woman farmer

THE INDEPENDENT focuses on the predicament of a 34-year-old woman who farms sheep and beef cattle on 80.9ha (200 acres) in the Peak District.

Rachel Symcock started out in 1988. She is still trying to build a stone farmhouse and currently lives in a caravan.

She admits she is poor, but says she is happy.
