Keen on more quota
FOUR out of five dairy farmers plan to acquire more quota in the current milk year, according to a Milk Marque survey of members.
Of these, 61% were planning to lease, 10% to buy, with the rest undecided. Farmers have taken a "wait-and-see" attitude, while uncertainty over this winters milk prices persists, said a spokesman for the co-op.
