New pesticide rules specify certificates
NEW rules are to be launched governing pesticides which will force every farmworker using pesticides to hold a certificate of competence.
The Government has proposed a three-year transition period.
Users of agricultural pesticides do not currently need a certificate if they were born before 31 December, 1964, and apply pesticides to their own land or work under the supervision of a certificate holder.
- Pesticide certificates to be extended to all users, FWi, yesterday (18 June)
