New process to give granular lime lift off
A NEW granulated limestone product offering superior neutralising values in a convenient formulation is now available, says UK supplier NPK of Lyme Regis, Dorset.
Magnesium Quicklime has long been recognised as having superior neutralising value, but was only available as a fine powder, it says. Now German specialist firm Hufgard has perfected a granulation process to produce Maglim Rapid granules.
Based on calcium and magnesium oxide it is more soil reactive than corresponding carbonates, so less product is needed. German trials also suggest it is very fast acting, responses being detected within a few days. *
