Pioneer farmers seek fortune in the East

BRITAINS farmers are forsaking their homeland for pastures new in Eastern Europe. The lure of low prices and high yields are attracting them to countries such as Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.

There are now waiting lists for those wishing to go on exploratory trips because demand is so high.
