Polly the cloned lamb could be worth a mint

UK scientists have cloned a new improved version of Dolly the sheep but this time her name is Polly. She has an added ingredient compared to her predecessor, a human gene.

The gene will produce a human protein in Pollys milk. The protein can be extracted and given to patients who lack it. The company behind Polly, Edinburghs PPL Therapeutics, plans to introduce a flock of Pollys, making proteins for treating a range of diseases from haemophilia to osteoporosis.
