Scottish beef please — not British
TRADE visitors attending the Anuga food fair in Cologne last week were given a clear message – Scottish beef, please, not British, thank you.
The Herald reports that Welsh lamb was found to be “acceptable” at the fair, but “nothing to do with England” struck a note.
The newspaper advises the Scottish sheep industry to get more involved in processing if it wants to compete with New Zealand.
It also reports that the pound will have to lose value if some of the Scottish beef export trade is to be recovered.
