SHEPHERDS should never draw blood when paring sheeps hooves, said sheep vet Chris Lewis.
The toe should not be cut so it is lower than the heel. "If you snip the toe off this will cause toe fibroma. This is when the toe bleeds and infection and bacteria invade, causing infective tissue to grow faster than horn, resulting in a bulge of loose horn," said Mr Lewis. *
