Simba signs international partnership agreement

Simba International has unveiled a new marketing partnership with French manufacturer Bonnel, which will see the Lincolnshire firm’s X-press and Solo lines sold in Bonnel’s blue livery throughout its French dealer network.

Pierre Bonnel, whose family firm has built and sold cultivation machinery since his great-great grandfather Octave set up in business in 1875, said it was a natural partnership with Simba which would allow his firm to expand its range and offer minimum-tillage products it did not manufacture itself.

Mr Bonnel said: “This agreement is perfect for us. We want to grow our business and these machines offer something we don’t provide already. It complements our plough business and will be a strong partnership.”

Solo, X-press and Unipress lines will be available for the first time through the French distributor and Simba hopes to extend this to single press machines. The firm is continuing development of its CCR roller, designed to reduce soil erosion. It is understood this could be launched at Germany’s Agritechnica event in November.

Through Bonnel, the Solo will be available in 3.3-6m formats and the X-press up to 10m. Simon Revell, Simba’s export manager, said the X-press would also be available in a super-narrow 2.5m configuration, suitable for use in vineyards.
