Dairy Event 2011: Wireless controller for SiloKing feeder

Wednesday 07 September 2011 08:48

Kverneland has introduced a wireless, hand-held controller for its SiloKing diet feeder.

Called Portus, the system uses two hand-held controllers – one for the loader and the other for the tractor powering the feeder.

These replace the on-board display consul on the mixer wagon and, says Kverneland, are easier to see.

Each of the hand-held devices can be programmed to allow operation of the conveyors and discharge doors, as well as providing ingredient weight information.

Powered by 12 volt batteries, the working range is claimed to be up to 1,500m.
