This incident occurred during a machinery practical session at Writtle College in Essex when students were being taught how to use a dung-spreader responsibly in NVZs (nitrogen vulnerable zones).
As you can see from the photo they failed to even make it into the field where the dung heap was.
The lecture than turned into a ‘how to get a dung-spreader out of a ditch’ tutorial.
The lesson? Don't drive close to a ditch when your spreader or trailer wheels are wider than the tractor.
